Tattered Angels & DCWV Embossed Cards & Helmar

This months Tattered Angels DT projects was to design cards. I'm not an enthusiastic card maker but I stumbled across a solution...the EMBOSSED BOX OF CARDS by DCWV.  This set contains 40 embossed cards and envelopes with 10 different designs. The embossing is so cool I thought I would just paint each card with a different Tattered Angels Paint medium and see what happened. Here is a picture of all three together.

Little Sprout can about with a BABY embossed card that I painted with a coat of Tattered Angels LIPSTICK PINK Glimmer Glam, added a sentiment and Prima Flowers dusted with Tattered Angels CHANDELIER Glimmer Glam, some Helmar's Craft Glue & Scrap Dots…how easy was that? Oh ~ I might like this type of card making.

The next one used a HEARTS embossed card and a coat of Tattered Angels PRIVATE MEADOW Glimmer Glam along with assorted embellishments including my homemade heart embellishment. Using my Helmar glue products again it was done in no time and a stash buster at that!

Last but not least is my favorite of them all.  A BROCADE embossed card that I added Tattered Angels ROCKIN’ ON SUNSHINE Glimmer Glam, BAHAMA BLUE Glimmer Mist, wooden letters from Pink Paislee and my homemade winged heart using Tim Holtz’s HEART WINGS Sizzix die. Of course using my HELMAR Premium Craft Glue made the whole card put together and finished in a flash!

With a fabulous set of Embossed cards from DCWV, add some Tattered Angels Paint mediums and Helmar glue and you are good to go. No more remembering at the 11th hour that you need to get a card out to your favorite somebody and not have anything...brilliant idea!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Tattered Angels...CHA...OH MY!

In one short week I will be heading to my first CHA...to say I'm excited doesn't even come close to describing how I feel. Of course I'm anxious to see all the new products but most excited to see up close the new TATTERED ANGELS products being released. Here's a chart showing the new colors in all four of the paint mediums, including the limited edition colors for Fall & Winter. Aren't they yummy?

I'm not only excited about the new colors but are you aware that Tattered Angels has created a new formula for their products...EZ MIX...EZ MIST. I've had the opportunity to work with the new formulas and I can honestly say that it definitely is EZ!!!

What color is going to be your favorite? I can't pick just one or two but after I see them in person I will let you know what ones will be on my list of must haves :)

Tattered Angels & Shane...

For the past two weeks I have been in Buffalo, NY, home since I was in college...home to my daughter Cait and my grandson Shane. After school is out here in NC we always head back up for the start of summer...birthdays, family, friends, 4th of July. I look forward to being there for Cait's birthday...she turned 27 at the end of June. I also had the pleasure of providing childcare to an energetic, rough and tumble 7 yr. old!

Because I would be there for two weeks I prepared an art box to take with me, consisting of journals, paint, glue, stamps, stamp pads and the all important TATTERED ANGELS Glimmer Mist. One morning as Shane & I were eating breakfast he asked me about "the special paint that I worked for"...don't you love that! Of course I had to get out my handy, dandy art box and I shared with him the "special paint"...I didn't expect the next question, but I probably should have..."Grandma, can I make a card for my Momma's birthday?".

Of course wanting to share my knowledge with anyone that listens I proceeded to tell him all about TATTERED ANGELS...I explained how you had to shake the bottle, and hold it correctly and of course the infamous "COMMIT TO THE MIST!" We got to work and here are a few pictures of Shane creating the birthday card...now remember this is an a 7 yr. old who one minute is Jack Sparrow including the tattoo's to a budding artist. The pictures are rough but I so wanted to share them.
Shane getting the hang of it!

On to the 5th color!

Committed to the Mist!

Experimenting!

After he finished and knew it had to dry he was off being a WWF Wrestler. He did finish the card later that day and he gave to his Momma on her birthday. I didn't get a chance to snap a shot of the card but Shane did ask if I would send him some of the "special paint made by Angels", some stamps and stamp pads so he could be an artist...out of the mouth of babes!!

Tattered Angels Color Connections & Pink Paislee :)

June was Happy Birthday month in my house...so many to celebrate! You are all invited to the Birthday SOIREE.
Our assignment this month was to showcase the new Pink Paislee and Tattered Angels Color Connections Paint system. If you haven't heard about it the premise is based on a collaboration between Tattered Angels and Pink Paislee. Pink Paislee created the paper and Tattered Angels created the matching paint products to be sold in a set. Below is the system for SOIREE...Marigold  & Party Pink Glimmer Mists, Chandelier Glimmer Glam & Waterfall Glimmer Glaze.
Using the brand new Tattered Angels Color Connection system and Pink Paislee's Soiree collection I created this cake stand.
I started with a  cake stand kit from Martha Stewart {white chipboard with white paper lace trim} perfect for adding some paper & paint. Using the PP Soiree collection and the Color Connection I covered each tray with paper and applied a coat of CHANDELIER Glimmer Glam {I need a gallon of this!}. I misted the white lace trim with  MARIGOLD Glimmer Mist, which is the EXACT color of the yellow in the paper! I then misted white tulle with the PARTY PINK Glimmer Mist. I completed the stand with a paper banner using the Soiree paper. Here it is ready to serve birthday cupcakes.
Also look how exact this Party Pink is to the pink in the Soiree paper...I'm amazed at the exact color you get. Remember this started out as white tulle...look at it now.
My 2nd project I would like to share with you is a birthday album created for a dear friend. I again used the Pink Paislee SOIREE paper collection and matching Tattered Angels Color Connection clam pack along with this adorable Cupcake Album by Out There Chippy.  On this project I was able to introduce the 4th component to the Color Connections paint system...WATERFALL Glimmer Glaze.
Tattered Angels Color Connections: Marigold & Party Pink Glimmer Mist, Chandelier Glimmer Glam.
Although it's hard to see CHANDELIER Glimmer Glam has been applied to all surfaces.
WATERFALL Glimmer Glaze has been applied to the bird, lettering and outer edges of the post card while MARIGOLD & PARTY PINK Glimmer Mist has been applied to the crown and frame...again I'm so amazed at the color match!
More Pink Paislee SOIREE and CHANDELIER Glimmer Glam!
My final project I shifted gears and used the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology paper collection along with the matching Color Connections Paint System comprised ofTURQUOISE BLUECHERUB PINK & SILVER SUGAR Glimmer Mist. Using an unpainted mannequin form I dressed her up with a coat of paint, satin trim, ribbons, Prima flower and a matching Pink Paislee rhinestone...isn't she sweet?I painted the wood mannequin with TURQUOISE BLUE, misted the Parisian Anthology paper used as her top with CHERUB PINK & SILVER SUGAR. The skirt was a combination of all 3 colors, also the ribbons. A white Prima flower with matching rhinestone and or course, what girl would be without a strand of pearls.
I hope you have enjoyed my projects. I can't say enough about the Color Connections Paint system it has taken the stress out of  which Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist color is going to work the best...allowing more time to be create. The colors match perfectly, not an easy feat and it also gives you 4 Tattered Angels Paint Mediums to work with...Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glam & Glimmer Glaze.
Thanks for stopping by. Make sure to come back and see what Nicole, Peg, Sherry & Zoe have up their sleeves.
