Yippee...I'm certified!

I'm now a Tattered  Angels Certified Designer...that makes me happy! Just wanted to share the news...think I need to go and get all inky & glimmery to celebrate.

Don't forget...

"DON'T JUST SPRITZ...COMMIT TO THE MIST!"

Art in the Round...

I love circles and anything round...always have, there is something so alive in that shape. I'm not crazy about angles it seems like such work to get to a corner and then have to do a 90 degree turn. It's all about personal preference. With this in mind I went on a search for a round canvas and I did indeed find them. For the past 3 months I have been working on a series of the canvas to see if there was potential in using them in my art...because that's what I prefer. I also accidentally stumbled upon a technique that I'm crazy about involving Tattered Angels paint mediums {of course}. My intention is to create a tutorial for this and you will see it in the next few weeks {once school is finished}. I'm going to share with you some raw pictures of 2 of the canvases that I've created. I would love to hear what you think!

Art Journal on my radar screen...

I have to give credit where credit is due!!! In Jan. I saw a blog post from Julie Balzer...Art Journal Every Day. Although I had thought about doing this I was timid and not sure that I had the artistic abilities to do one. Seeing this blog post was the impetus to start. I'm not sure if Julie realizes that she kicked my butt into gear...now it's one of my favorite form of art to create!!! So if anyone sees Julie tell her for me ;)
ART JOURNALS : Doing Art Journals was the last thing I ever thought I would do... much less enjoy. This is a brand new art discovery for me. I started out very slow...didn't want to jump in with both feet so I took apart two Tattered Angels  albums {I love the paper that is used in them}. I figured IF I liked this process I would then bind them into my SO CALLED Art Journal. I worked on these individual pages off and on from Jan. to the end of April and created 35 pages. Surprisingly I really enjoyed this process so I took off my training wheels and started my big-girl Art Journal at the beginning of May.
Creating backgrounds has become one of my favorite parts {still not big on the journaling...baby steps} and using Tattered Angels paint mediums is so rewarding for the incredible designs that can be created. So I would like to share with you a few of the pages I created this month. They are self-explanatory but I've listed the Tattered Angels paint mediums & colors used.

DIY Wedding Fan...

Here is a special project I created for Tattered Angels Wedding Projects. When given this assignment I wasn't quite sure what to do but I wanted something that would be affordable and simple to create. With the long hot days of summer getting ready to burst forth I thought how COOL to have an actual fan. You could create them for bridal showers as token gifts or for Mothers of the bride & groom on that special day. Outdoor country weddings are the trend this year and this would fit the bill for the afternoon wedding or maybe you don't want to sink money into you bridesmaid's bouquets. So many different ways to use this idea.

With an assortment of Tattered Angel paint mediums you have the opportunity to custom mix all the colors in the fan to match exactly with your planned color scheme. A $1.00 craft fan, some paper, canvas & white flowers, ribbon and glue you are ready to create a truly custom and unique wedding accessory.

Make sure you check out the Tattered Angels blog daily for more wedding inspirations and the fabulous design team is also sharing some art journal pages. I'll be  sharing another fan that I created on the 22nd that goes hand=in hand with this one. Thanks for stopping by ;)

Just for me...

I'm on overload...it's the ending of another school year...projects due...class assignments to complete. I say that I will get caught up over summer break...LOL! I'm fooling myself and I probably wouldn't have it any other way. I've been neglecting my blog and I haven't created anything just for me! This weekend was an opportunity to create something just for me...and it felt great ;) Here's what I made...a little bit from SOUL RESTORATION, SheART, ArtJournal Everyday and Free Your Creativity

Oops...time is up...off running to complete something else. Hope you enjoyed my JUST FOR ME canvas. I would love to hear from you...what are you creating...JUST FOR YOU?
