Tattered Angels and Stencils = LOVE

It's no secret that I love working with stencils to create background paper to use in other projects. In this instance I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist & Chalkboard Glimmer Mist to create these on Strathmore Series Water Color Paper. I love to use watercolor paper because of the texture of it..after it grabs the color the glimmer really pops..of course we don't have GLIMMER VISION!

I don't worry about colors I just grab and COMMIT TO THE MIST! Here are the 4 papers I created last week.

Here are a few examples of one way to use these background papers. I have been working on decorating them to use as gift tags for Christmas gifts.

Stop back later this week for completed tags. Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day and don't forget to BREATHE!!!

Christmas Journal Pages ala Dylusions

Is everyone holding up or are you as overwhelmed as I feel? Ahh....that's why we love the holidays. I have a quick share of 3 Christmas Journal pages ala Dyan Reaveley style. I've been doing this as a way to un-stress...decompress...just plain ol' having some fun.

The first page actually is an interactive page...I attached  a tab that you can lift to see what is underneath the smaller page.

Well I'm off and running...lots to do today. I have a few more projects to share with you  and I "PLAN" to share them with you next week!

HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY WEEKEND!

My AJED December Style~Week 1

December is here and the countdown has started. For myself it’s not a busy time because we go HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS…that’s when the fun really begins. I have found living 800 mi. away from family & friends and even though I’m in the holiday spirit it’s just not the same as when you are surrounded by loved ones!

Last year I created 30 Days in Your Journal ~ December with a class with Julie Fei-Fan Balzer {who really was my inspiration to start art journaling}. It was a blast and made the time waiting for the trip home fly by. I’m doing it again this year…a little differently though.
I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with "Art Journal Every Day: December" kit from Cocoa Daisy, designed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. If you want to know more I recommend you start here.
I’m creating a journal using 6x6 in paper. I purchased the kit from Cocoa Daisy because I really wanted the custom stencil and stamp set designed by Julie. I’m also busting out my stash of all those little pads of paper. I’m not sure how I’m binding it yet but am taking it into consideration. Each day is basically the same format with the days thoughts, musings & ramblings on the front and an Instagram photo on the back. The photos are coming from a list called Capturing December.

Thank for stopping by...what are you doing today?

Hop through with us and visit each designer’s blog and leave a comment on their Helmar and May Arts Blog Hop post. The first winners will be chosen on the 21st and the second winners will be chosen after the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend! So let’s get started!

Have you ever wanted to create a decorative ribbon pillow but not had the time or materials to sew one. I have the solution...Helmar 101 Quilt Basting Spray and HELMAR FABRIC GLUE! It dries crystal clear, creates a FLEXIBLE bond, is machine washable and is permanent. Now that the holidays are quickly approaching I wanted to create just such a pillow.

Step #1: Grab a Canvas Corp canvas pillow cover and burlap flower, an assortment of MAY ARTS ribbon and Helmar.

Step #2: Create a pleasing arrangement of your ribbon. The middle ribbon I pleated partially using the Helmar Fabric Glue. I temporarily attached to pillow cover with the Helmar 101 Quilt Basting Spray. Once pleased with arrangement  I glued my ribbon permanently to the cover. I folded over & glued each ribbon to the back of the pillow cover. I don't have plans to actually wash this pillow cover, it is for decorative purposes only.

Step #3: Create a flower corsage using Helmar Fabric Glue...the flowers are vintage millinery roses from my collection.

Step #4: Attach the corsage and I also added a small piece of vintage sequin studded ribbon over the cream May Arts ribbon, again using Helmar Fabric Glue.

Finished pillow...looks expensive, fast, easy & no-sew with HELMAR & MAY ARTS!

Now on to the rest of the blog hop...follow here & if you need to go back to Day 1 the blogs are listed below.
